My latest pubic art installation titled “Color it Positive” puts a modern twist on traditional Tibetan Prayer Wheels and incorporates color theory to create a vibrantly colorful and interactive display. Tibetan Prayer Wheels are traditionally small cylinders on a spindle that are spun to release a sacred mantra into the world. In “Color it Positive”, over 500 plastic cups have been strung together and inscribed with positive messages. Exploring the idea that color can impact our brain to react in emotional ways, the cups have been specifically arranged in color schemes to evoke a positive response. The installation is designed to encourage viewers to spin a cup and reflect on ways to positively influence their surroundings. I am so excited to be invited back for my second install with Windows on Chapel Hill!
